Public Transport Accidents
Public Transport Accidents may fall in to the category of Road Traffic Accidents, for example bus and coach travel, but accidents may also occur on trains, trams, boats and aeroplanes. Accidents on such forms of transport are not always straight forward, depending on the circumstances and they may also be subject to different laws including International Laws which determine when and on what basis a claim should be made.
For example, the time limit for making a claim when you are on a boat or an aeroplane is different to a standard accident claim. Therefore, it is essential that your Lawyer has the appropriate knowledge. The Lawyers at Balfor Legal have the required skills and knowledge to handle such matters.
You can contact us by telephoning 0845 603 0931 or by simply completing the On-Line Enquiry Form and we will call you.
Product Liability Accidents
If you have been injured by a product, it may not have been your fault. The cause of the accident could have been something beyond your control, for example the product may have been faulty.

Street Accidents
The most common types of accidents which occur in the street are when someone trips or slips as a result of a defect on the pavement or highway. These cases are often against Local Authorities who are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our streets under the Highways Act. Cases of this nature are not as straight forward as they may first appear. However, the Lawyers at Balfor Legal have considerable experience in this field. You can contact us by telephoning 0845 603 0931 or by simply completing the On-Line Enquiry Form and we will call you.
Accidents when you are a visitor
In our everyday life, we come and go as visitors to many places, be it supermarkets and shops for our everyday needs, business premises, public and private premises, restaurants, residential houses, concert halls and arenas, stadiums. Sometimes accidents occur in these places, which can arise out of all sorts of circumstances, from slipping on wet floors, to employees of the place where you visit doing in something wrong.
If you had had the misfortune of suffering an injury whilst being a visitor to any such place, then you may be entitled to compensation. So long as you tell us what happened and where, The lawyers at Balfor Legal will work out who is potentially responsible and will be able to advise you and assist you with making a claim.
In most of the above situations, the owner, occupier or event organiser will have insurance to cover them against your claim. You can contact us by telephoning 0845 603 0931 or by simply completing the On-Line Enquiry Form and we will call you.
Accidents on Holiday
We all look forward to going away on Holiday, but unfortunately, what should have been a well earned break and time to enjoy yourself and relax can sometimes be ruined by an accident or incident. You may have been travelling just a short distance to have a break within the UK or many have decided to travel overseas. When accidents or incidents occur whilst on holiday, it can be difficult to establish who might have been at fault. The accident may have happened during the course of travel, by bus, coach, train or Air. You may have suffered food poisoning or injured yourself in a swimming pool or during an excursion. Cases which occur in the UK, do not pose any particular difficulties from a legal point of view, but those which occur abroad may not be straight forward. Different Laws and regulations will often apply and the time limit for making a claim may be much shorter than the standard 3 year limit that we have in the UK. Sometimes you may only have one year to claim.
In order for you to have any chance of seeking justice and compensation, your Lawyer needs to have appropriate knowledge. The Lawyers at Balfor Legal have the required skills and knowledge to handle such matters. You can contact us by telephoning 0845 603 0931 or by simply completing the On-Line Enquiry Form and we will call you.

Criminal Injuries
Unfortunately, in today's society violent crime is an ever increasing worry for the general public and if you have been the victim of such a crime, then Balfor Legal can help you and guide you though the process of seeking compensation for your injuries.
Claims for criminal Injuries are made to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, who administer the criminal injuries compensation scheme throughout England, Scotland and Wales. They pay compensation to people who have been the victim of a violent crime.
Since the first scheme was set up in 1964, the Authority, has paid more than £3billion in compensation, making it among the largest and most generous of its type in the world. Its aim is to provide victims with material recognition of their pain and suffering and to allow society to express its regret to them.
Since April 1996, the level of compensation has been determined according to a scale, or tariff, set by Parliament. The scheme, and the 1996 tariff, were revised in 2001. The tariff includes descriptions of over 400 injuries, with each attached to one of 25 levels of compensation between £1,000 and £250,000. There is a time limit of two years to make a claim and certain conditions must be met in order for there to be a prospect of you being awarded compensation.
It is not essential that you have a Lawyer to represent and you can in fact make an application yourself directly to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. However, the Lawyers at Balfor Legal do have considerable experience in making applications to the CICA on behalf of the victims of crime and we would be happy to discuss any such matter with you and provide you with free initial advice without any obligation.
You can contact us by telephoning 0845 603 0931 or by simply completing the On-Line Enquiry Form and we will call you.
